...for the world
Please pray for a peaceful settlement to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East that has claimed so many innocent
lives. Pray that the Lord, by His Spirit, would comfort both the Israelis and Palestinians, and reveal
to all the leaders, through his perfect wisdom, ways in which peace can be realised for all. This plea for peace is
central to world peace as well as to the ongoing war on terrorism. Often we think our prayers are not being answered,
but if we keep persisting and don't give up praying, God will surely answer them -
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry
out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? (Luke 18:7)
It must break the Father's heart to see this part of the world in particular, being torn apart by hatred and self interest
and intolerance.
Pray also for those who live in fear - abroad or at home; pray for the elderly who have given so well to the life of
the world but who so often have to live in meagre circumstances or in fear of violence because they are old. Pray also
for those who hold the future of our communities in their hands - students at schools, colleges and universities as
they come closer and closer to positions of responsibility.
...for our area
Bring before the Father of all wisdom, love and patience, the churches in Bathgate, and ask that He may show what the real needs of our
community are and pray that He will bring the churches more and more together in praying for the community.
To the Loving God, pray that the revival now evident in some quarters of the church will continue to take hold and will enfold
more and more fellowships and congregations. In Jesus' name, ask God to use His servants in this world to build up the Bathgate Churches so that
many more people in our area may know His true grace and love. Pray that God will pour out His Spirit on our churches so
that we may begin to have a real and meaningful influence on the whole community.
We ask all this in Jesus' name. AMEN
